We also believe that you are one of those who have been asking, "How can we help Uyghurs?", "How can we support Uyghurs?".
Empower Communities Charitable Trust, a registered charity in New Zealand, is here to deliver your care and support directly to the Uyghur people.
Currently, diaspora Uyghurs struggle with unemployment and poverty with very little support. They have been marginalized in their struggle for resettlement and integration in host countries. Yet, they have shown they are resilient and hard-working. And they need support.
We believe that with the right support from you and us, Uyghur communities around the world can begin to prosper.
We offer assistance to Uyghurs in four areas:
- Economic empowerment
- Employment
- Education
- Well-being
Currently, we have five projects in operation:
- Microenterprise Program
- Training Grants
- Childcare Support Grants
- Student Relief Grants
- One laptop per student
Starting in April 2022, we expect to provide business loans to four businesses, 23 training grants, 27 childcare support grants, and seven Student Relief Grants.
Our Current Projects
Microenterprise Program
We provide loans to Uyghur aspiring and current business owners as they do not have access to collateral bank loans.
Training Grant
We provide grants to Uyghurs who otherwise could not afford training to improve their employability.
Childcare Support Grant
We assist Uyghurs whose jobs and education are jeopardized because they cannot afford to pay for childcare.
